Improving Seller Reports

When we launched Shop OnRez we put up a base level of reports to help sellers track sales. Under the Transactions menu you can see your detailed sales history, which includes delivery information and time/date stamps. Under the Seller Tools menu, we have more reports that cover top sellers, breakdowns of Web versus in-world OnRez vendor sales, etc.
We’ve never been satisfied with these, but we knew we had to defer work on them. That time has come. We are thinking about design and reaching out for feedback, and I wanted to invite any of our sellers to get requests and ideas over to us. You can comment here, send me an email at forseti (dot) svarog @ gmail (dot) com or feel free to IM Forseti Svarog in-world.
If we do our job right, we’ll make it much easier for you to run your Second Life business, and focus on things that really matter!

Hi,
i wish a report for me, where I can see, on which land i selled my items. I have some copies of the same vendor and then i could see, on which land which item-category goes best.
Greetings

Yep, need breakdown by in world vendor. Also, if you keep track of ad views that can be helpful to see.
I would like to see some improvements to the vendors themselves as well, namely some more features like: multi-panel vendors, giving customers info notecards & designating someone to get a commission from sales for a particular vendor. Those vendors are nice but they need a little more functionality before I’m going to deploy them at all my shops.

We are about to release the multi-panel vendors — we’ve been field testing them for several weeks to make sure things are solid. They are moddable so you can change the look and number of panels desired.
regarding revenue splits - this functionality needs to be extended to the vendors as well, we agree. Right now this capability is only available for Web sales (under Seller tools > Payment methods).
We definitely want to add richer in-world reports and location information will be included.
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi-ya,
Thank you for the opportunity to give input :o)
I would very much like to see some sort of general traffic report as I will be better able to ascertain such things as what keywords are working and which need to be changed or refined. For myself, I like data of this kind as it informs my future decision making :o)
I am very excited to hear that multi-panel vendors are on the horizon!
Thanks for your time =D

an addendum to the previous post:
I have discussed the use of OnRez vendors with a few other designers; a major concern was raised: The vendor rely’ on the user/shopper being proficient in the English language, this then excludes a large proportion of SL residents. I myself am Australian, and have english as my first language, however my main store is in a German Sim… I am sure that others are like me and have no wish to offend or alienate their neighbours! :o)
I have no idea exactly what would be involved in addressing this, but I do think it is valid and worth consideration. SL is about Community afterall.
Thank you again for your time :)

thanks Faery - we do want to internationalize Shop. When we launched the website, it wasn’t a cosmetic upgrade of SLBoutique but rather a complete overhaul so the work involved was not minor. We didn’t have time to bring multi-language support but we will need to add that we agree — for both the website and the vendors.
As an immediate measure, you might add German to your item description. When someone clicks on the item it will give them a link to the item where they can read more details about the item or your policies, and you certainly could have more than language in that description box. It’s not as usable and clean as it should be however, but that’s just one way to approach it *today* off the top of my head.

A “dynamic filter” that shows all sales for a certain item and hiding the rest would be kool. I’m not sure if it is actually possible tho:)

I’d like:
- ability to download a CSV file of all sales information, preferably with the ability to specify web site, in-world sales, or both - for in-house record keeping
- a report of conversion rates for all items, not just the top 20 - to see which items get interest but don’t sell
- a report of the sales volume and price of top sellers in each category (top sellers across Onrez, that is) - so that I have some idea of the competitiveness of my products
If I think of more, I’ll write again.
