All the Shop OnRez vendors, including the recently released a Beta version of an 8-panel Vendor, are fully customizable. OnRez seller, Dedric Mauriac, has customized his 8-panel Vendors to make the most of his shop’s space and integrate them with his overall theme.

Last weekend, Ewing Fashion Agency held their gala event to announce the winners of their 2008 Design Awards. The Invite Only event was so popular, that the organizers decided to open the event to the public and the SIM was nearly filled an hour in advance of the official start time!

The competition was facilitated through Shop.OnRez using Tags to submit and track the entries. 40 designers submitted nearly 1400 items for the chance at an award from 10 Categories and one Grand Prize Winner.
I had the honor of announcing the award to the Grand Prize Winner: Alla Ruff for her Round and Aboutton Black - Complete outfit.

We are pleased to announce the release of Paged Vendors on Shop OnRez. We are currently offering a limited release of a beta version that displays 8 thumbnails at a time, with a large preview window for the selected item. Get one here!

Paged vendors are free, customizable, and fully compatible with your existing vendor packs.

Why the limited beta release?

Since this is a brand new feature for Shop OnRez, we want feedback from sellers and buyers about the paged vendor interface before making it available in a wider release. If something could be improved, please give us feedback at http://support.onrez.com!

Today we released a new updates to Shop OnRez to improve the seller experience and help new users get started. Changes in clude:

• Redelivery links on the sales history page to make it easy for sellers to resend items
• Warning to sellers when first listing an item for L$0 to prevent accidentally selling items for free
• New instructions on My Home when first registering for an OnRez account

Many of the changes we make to Shop OnRez are based on your feedback! If you have a suggestion or comment, please submit it to http://support.onrez.com.

We have resolved the issue, which was interfering with our in-world transaction processes over the weekend, but are still experiencing delays in $L transfers due to the high volume of Holiday Shopping.

If you would like to submit a ticket you can do so at http://support.onrez.com. All deposits/withdrawls will reconcile as quickly our processors allow. Unfortunately, this could take several minutes to several hours. We understand this is an inconvenience and greatly appreciate your patience.

We are still working to resolve issues with in-world transfers via OnRez Wallets and Direct payment to Commerce Leader due to a recent LL code change. We are still experiencing issues with some deposits and transfers between Second Life and OnRez. If you have recently made a deposit to your OnRez Wallet or a Direct payment to Commerce Leader, but the funds have not appeared in your Shop.Onrez Account, be assured that we are working to correct these issues ASAP and appreciate your patience.

[Update, 3:15pm PST] Deliveries are running again! All purchases made during the grid outage should now be reconciled or voided.

[Update, 12:15pm PST] Deactivated dropboxes have been reactivated.

[Update, 12pm PST] Deliveries were mistakenly turned on before the grid came back up.

Buyers: If your purchase was marked as void, please wait before trying again. It’s possible the item was deactivated as part of this process and won’t be available immediately. If your purchase was marked as reconciled, you should receive it when you login to SL.

You can shop safely during the SL service outage! In order to make sure that no deliveries are lost due to any upgrades LL may be performing, we have temporarily disabled Shop OnRez deliveries while Second Life is unavailable.

You can shop normally and we will deliver your items when the grid returns. Your purchase delivery status will be ‘pending’ in your transaction history until we turn deliveries back on.

OnRez is a proud sponsor of a new design competition being organized by the Ewing Fashion Agency. Official Rules Here.

The basics:

Designers must enter brand new items in the competition. There are multiple categories. Each category has a unique tag associated with it. Designers wanting to enter the competition must list the item for sale at OnRez (it’s free!) and tag their items with the appropriate tag to let us know that they are entering the item in the competition.

Winners are chosen based on which item generates the most revenue between December 8, 2007 and January 6, 2008. Grand prize is L$100,000 and other benefits. There are also prizes at the category level.

We have been working hard to improve the reliability of the Shop OnRez ecommerce service, with one particular area being the successful delivery of orders.  There are numerous reasons for why a delivery might fail — Second Life could be having grid trouble, the seller might have picked up the dropbox by accident, and there are quite a few scenarios where avatars will not receive an inventory transfer.  We continue to try to work around all of these issues.  We have had a number of spells where delivery failures were at unacceptable rates — early August and early November in particular.  The graph above shows the last two weeks, and we are glad to see that we have recently been able to drive failure rates below 3%, although still not without some difficult days.

We do not consider 3% in any way acceptable, and will continue working on ways to drive that metric lower both internally and in discussions with Linden Lab.  Second Life as a robust platform still has a ways to go, but there is no reason why we should not be able to get to 0.0001% failure rates with effort on both sides.
